I just came across your website, while searching for the right serving of hazelnuts, and I love it that here I found all the correct amount of food we should eat in one meal. My only wish is that you also provide some nutrition advice and maybe improve the database, under food groups there's only fruit & veggies and nuts & seeds. How about eggs, dairy, meat or cereal? Good luck!

Wow, thanks very much Carissa. Quite right, nobody has time to measure out food - especially if you're in a restaurant. Your support does mean a lot to me. :)

Debbie,

What an ambitous project! I stumbled across your site today while looking for a serving size of a particular food for a client (Im a nutritionist)...ideally food should be measured, but really who has time for that? Plus that is impossable when dining out. Your approach is very handy, I appreciate the realistic approach.

Hi David,

Thanks for the comment. It means a lot to me knowing that at least one other person out there finds this useful :)

Hey Debbie,

I'm in my third year of university and love cooking, but I lack what the French might call "any semblance of skill whatsoever." It's hard cooking healthy meals on a budget, and I'm so excited to have found your website right now that I decided the least I could do is drop you a comment to tell you that your work is definitely appreciated!

I was searching for what you apparently were too--I have a package of mushrooms sitting in my fridge and I wanted to know if using them alone is enough vegetables to justify eating starchy pasta. I'm off to go make myself some lunch!

Thanks again!
